At MFMac, building meaningful, long-term relationships is at the heart of everything we do, and our partnership with Brake is a clear reflection of that. Over the past few years, we’ve developed a strong and collaborative relationship with the team at Brake, shaped by shared values and a mutual commitment to supporting victims of road traffic collisions. Our involvement in recent events, including the After the Crash Conference and Brake’s Annual Reception at the UK Parliament, has further deepened that connection. We are proud to announce that this relationship has led to our re-appointment to Brake’s Scottish legal panel for a third consecutive year.
Continued commitment to road victims
Through this appointment, we remain committed to delivering trauma-informed legal support to individuals and families affected by road traffic collisions.
Supporting Brake's vital work
The work Brake do is invaluable to victims of road traffic collisions and their families. Over the course of our relationship with Brake, it has been a privilege to support their efforts.
Brake tirelessly pursues its vision of a world free from road deaths and serious injuries. While that vision is still to be realised, the organisation continues to campaign for change while focusing on delivering excellent post-crash care to those affected by road traffic collisions.
Brake’s “After the Crash” conference
Nicola Edgar and Jenny Dickson recently attended Brake’s After the Crash Conference in Manchester. This important event brought together professionals involved in post-crash care, including emergency services, medical experts, and legal professionals. Experiences were shared by those who had lost loved ones, police officers who were first on the scene, collision investigators, and legal professionals - all sharing their insights. The collaborative spirit of the event exemplifies the benefits Brake brings to service users through the National Road Victim Service.
The national road victim service
Brake’s National Road Victim Service offers trauma-informed emotional and practical support to those affected by road traffic collisions. Case workers are based throughout the UK, with a dedicated local team in Scotland.
Each case worker provides personalised support and is trained to understand the many challenges that arise following a collision. Their guidance is a lifeline to those navigating the aftermath of such traumatic events.
Celebrating Brake's 30th anniversary
This year marks Brake’s 30th anniversary. To acknowledge this milestone, Nicola Edgar attended Brake’s Annual Reception at the UK Parliament, to celebrate their achievements and progress towards Brake’s vision of zero road deaths.
The event also provided a welcome opportunity to reconnect with existing contacts and build new relationships.
A continuing commitment to trauma-informed support
Being a member of Brake's legal panel allows our team to contribute to the excellent work Brake undertakes. We remain inspired by the passion, dedication, and drive demonstrated by everyone involved with the charity.
The Personal Injury team at MFMac is honoured to have been re-appointed to Brake’s Scottish legal panel. Our approach to client work is rooted in trauma-informed practice, recognising that no two claims are the same. Every client has unique needs and motivations for taking legal action.
Our specialist Personal Injury team works closely with each client to build a strong client relationship and ensure they are empowered by understanding their rights, and also supported throughout the complex legal processes involved. By closely collaborating with clients throughout their claim, we help ensure they receive the guidance they need, and deserve.
