Shaz has considerable experience advising on complex energy transactions, bringing rare insight from seven years leading legal teams at SSE. As Head of Legal for Business Development at SSE Renewables, Shaz directed legal support on multi-GW offshore wind joint ventures, international M&A opportunities across multiple technology types, and corporate PPAs. Previously, as Head of Legal for SSE Enterprise’s Distributed Energy business, he oversaw legal delivery of strategic transactions across private networks, solar, battery storage, district heating and EV infrastructure.
Before SSE, Shehzad spent eight years at CMS, including strategic secondments to Repsol, Bumi Armada, Cairn Energy and BP, advising on energy projects across multiple jurisdictions.
His practice focuses on renewable energy M&A, joint ventures and route to market solutions.
