Camilla Horneman
AssociateCamilla is an Associate in our Litigation division and is part of the Commercial Dispute Resolution team.
She advises clients on a broad range of commercial litigation matters, with particular experience in contractual disputes, debt recovery and group litigation.
Camilla acts in matters across all stages of the dispute resolution process, from pre-litigation strategy through to court proceedings. She has extensive experience handling Sheriff Court actions and regularly appears at hearings. She also acts in complex and high-value Court of Session matters. Her experience includes disputes arising under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 following damage to utility company assets, as well as judicial reviews. Having worked exclusively in litigation since beginning her traineeship in 2018, she brings a strong understanding of contentious matters and effective dispute resolution strategies.
Her clients include private companies, public bodies and insurance companies. Camilla acts for both pursuers and defenders, advising organisations across a variety of sectors on commercial disputes and litigation risks.

Self-represented parties and court rules: lessons from Moneybarn No. 1 Ltd v Gladwin
This case highlights that self represented parties must still comply with court rules, particularly in properly setting out legal arguments and factual detail in written pleadings. The Sheriff Appeal Court confirmed that a lack of specification and unsupported legal assertions can justify granting summary decree, even where a party is unrepresented.
