Chris Murphy is a Senior Solicitor in MFMac’s Projects team, advising public sector bodies, charities and third sector organisations on governance, regulatory and strategic matters.

He helps clients navigate complex legal requirements, manage risk and make confident decisions through practical, commercially focused advice. 

Chris specialises in charity law, public procurement, subsidy control, grants, governance and constitutional matters. He advises on charity incorporations, charitable status applications, governance reviews, restructurings, wind-ups and compliance with Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) requirements, as well as wider regulatory obligations.

He regularly supports public bodies, local authorities and third sector organisations on governance frameworks, statutory powers and duties, procurement processes, subsidy control compliance, grant funding arrangements and the establishment of new organisations and public bodies. He also advises on devolution matters and Electoral Commission compliance.
