Rebecca McAvoy is a solicitor in our Private Client team.
She advises individuals, families, trustees and charities on a wide range of private client matters, helping clients plan for the future, protect wealth and pass assets to the next generation in a way that reflects their wishes and circumstances.
Rebecca advises on wills, powers of attorney, inheritance tax planning, succession planning and estate administration. She works with clients on both straightforward and complex matters, including business succession planning, providing pragmatic advice tailored to their personal, family and financial objectives.
She regularly supports executors and beneficiaries through the administration of estates, including obtaining Confirmation, dealing with inheritance tax matters and advising on estate planning opportunities. She understands that many of these matters arise during difficult periods in clients' lives and is committed to providing advice that is clear, timely and sensitive to their circumstances.
Rebecca also advises on the administration of charitable trusts, supporting trustees with governance and the ongoing management of trust affairs.
Rebecca is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading global professional body for specialists in inheritance and succession planning, and is currently completing the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Scotland). She is also a Notary Public.
