Robyn is a senior associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team.
Robyn advises clients on all aspects of commercial litigation and debt recovery in both the Sheriff Courts and Court of Session. She regularly appears in court, conducting cases on behalf of her clients.Robyn delivers a friendly, efficient and professional client service on a wide range of matters, ensuring that advice on complex matters is made as clear as possible. She also delivers training on various matters of relevance to clients and external contacts. Robyn is part of the reparation team where she advises insurers, self-insured companies, government departments and other public sector organisations on a variety of matters. She specialises in claims involving employers' liability, occupiers' liability, road traffic accidents and health and safety regulations.

Shea Ryan died after falling into an incomplete manhole at a Drumchapel construction site in July 2020. The accident was caused by poor communication between two principal contractors during a site handover. Under CDM 2015, principal contractors must share safety-critical information, especially during changes in site control. This case highlights the serious consequences of failing to meet those duties.

In a recent Court of Session decision, Kerr v Midlothian Council and Moray Council [2024] CSOH 112, the court considered the application of a special rule of causation, the Fairchild exception. The Kerr case was an action for damages arising from the development of a rare form of mesothelioma.
