The Employment Rights Bill has been delayed, with Royal Assent now expected in early November. Most Lords amendments were rejected by the Commons and the Bill returns to the Lords on 28 October. If approved, it will repeal key trade union legislation. Consultations on related reforms are behind schedule, but major changes like unfair dismissal protections are still planned for 2027, so implementation is unlikely to be affected.
