Employment Rights Act Update (Part 2): New harassment prevention duties and equality action plans

Join discrimination law specialists Sarah Gilzean and Fiona Meek for this webinar that takes a closer look at the new and amended duties to prevent harassment in the workplace. From October, employers are required to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace and also have a duty to prevent third party harassment. We will also look at the steps that employers (with 250 or more employees) should be taking now to prepare for the requirement, that takes effect in April 2027, to produce equality action plans relating to gender equality and menopause.

We will discuss:

  • The practical impact of the change to "all" reasonable steps
  • How this differs from the "all reasonable steps" defence
  • What employers need to do to comply
  • Available guidance
