Alan is a Partner at MFMac's highly rated Employment Law team.

Alan has advised clients exclusively on employment law issues for over 20 years. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in employment law. He acts for a number of leading Scottish employers, advising them in relation to all aspects of their employment law and employee relations issues, as well as dispute resolution. He has appeared at employment tribunals throughout the UK, the Employment Appeal Tribunal, as well as acting for clients in a number of sensitive and high-value mediations.

As well as his work for employers, Alan has significant experience regularly acting for senior executives in relation to proposed departure and severance terms under Settlement Agreements.

He tutors and lectures postgraduate law students in employment law on the Diploma in Legal Practice at Edinburgh University and is regularly asked to speak and write on employment law issues.

He has particular interest and expertise in data protection/GDPR and privacy issues and has a LL.M in Human Rights Law.
