Douglas is particularly well known for his work on major infrastructure projects and public inquiries. He advises on planning, compulsory purchase and compensation matters, acting for clients across the energy, renewables, infrastructure and public sectors. His experience includes supporting UK Government departments, the Scottish Government, local authorities and public bodies on projects that often involve significant legal, regulatory and strategic considerations.

In addition to leading the firm's planning practice, Douglas heads MFMac's fraud and commercial crime practice and has particular expertise in proceeds of crime legislation. His broad experience enables him to provide practical, commercially focused advice on complex and sensitive matters.
