And, finally…

World record price for sale of working female sheep dog

Her former owner Northumberland shepherdess, Emma Gray, farms on the remote National Trust-owned Fallowlees Farm at Harwood Forest, Morpeth, and originally hails from Hawick in the Scottish Borders.

Brenna only narrowly missed out on equaling the all-time world record high price of 14,100 guineas, or £14,805, also established at Skipton in May, 2016 - this record was set for a working male sheep dog.

Brenna is now bound for America, to meet her new owner Dr Pamela Helton, the Artistic Director and President of the Third Millennium Ensemble in Frederick, Maryland who also farms in Maryland and has a flock of some 60 head of Swedish Gotland sheep.
